Resources for women in Pakistan
Verified helplines, legal routes, funding and microfinance for women in Pakistan, plus fellowships and programmes open to apply.
This page covers the human rights helpline, the statutory commission that takes complaints, and microfinance built for low-income women. It is being built out.
Two of these are worth knowing about specifically. The 1099 line gives free legal advice and referral on human rights complaints, including violence against women, and it does not cost anything to call. The National Commission on the Status of Women is a statutory body with its own complaints mechanism, which means a complaint to it carries weight rather than disappearing.
The microfinance entry below is not a bank. It lends to low-income women alongside business training, which is a different proposition from a loan on its own.
